And what a great start to 2023 it looks like for all fans of tactical RPGs, as Intelligent Systems’ Fire Emblem Engage is coming to Switch in just a few weeks. We’ve already been playing it extensively over the holiday season, and after roughly 12 hours of the main campaign, we think there are plenty of reasons to be excited about its imminent arrival. Fire Emblem Engage introduces a colorful new continent, Elyos, along with a large cast of characters who will face off against numerous Emblem legends from throughout the series’ history.
In this story, you play as Alear, the red-eyed and blue-eyed Divine Dragon, who awakens from a thousand-year slumber to confront Sombron, the Dark Dragon, an ancient beast bent on world domination. To have any chance of defeating this resurrected foe, Alear must journey across the game’s beautiful world in search of the magical Emblem Rings, which hold the power of legendary heroes. Only Alear has the ability to summon the Emblem warriors from the rings, and he will need every single one of them to achieve victory.
