Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the latest installment in the Super Mario series after nearly a decade without a new title. Nintendo released Super Mario Bros. U for the Wii U in 2012, later porting it to the Switch, but there was no word on a new Mario game until Super Mario Bros. Wonder suddenly appeared.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a Nintendo Switch exclusive released by Nintendo in 2012. Just two weeks after its release, Super Mario Bros. Wonder sold over 12 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling Super Mario game in the series.
If you’re a fan of Mario and other platformers, you’ll love this game. You control your character by running left and right, jumping, and ducking to overcome obstacles. Occasionally, you can find power-ups and use them to activate your character’s unique skills.
Story Summary
Mario and his friends are invited to the Flower Kingdom, a neighboring world just a few steps away from the Mushroom Kingdom. As usual, Bowser continues his evil schemes. He spoils everyone’s celebration of his transformation into a giant flying castle and continues to cause trouble for the entire group. Bowser has touched the Flower of Wonder and merged with Prince Florian’s castle, unleashing dark forces upon the Flower Kingdom. Mario and his friends must fight to free the Flower Kingdom from Bowser’s tyrannical rule.
Power-ups
- Elephant Fruit: Turn Mario into a big elephant. It can absorb water and shoot enemies
- Bubble Flower: Sends out slow-motion bubbles that eliminate enemies
- Drill Mushroom: Turn Mario’s hat into a powerful drill
- Fire Flower: Shoot fireballs to destroy enemies
- Super Mushroom: Returns Mario to his original size
- Wonder Flower: This is a new power-up. It can change world design, activate traps, add challenges, change Marios’ form, and more. This power-up appears randomly once during levels
- Each Power-up is useful in different ways.
